There is va seguit d'un substantiu singular.
  "There is a bank past the bus stop."
(Hi ha un banc passada la parada del bus.)
There are va seguit d'un substantiu plural.
  "There are two shops in this street."
(Hi ha dues botigues en aquest carrer.)
Tots dos es tradueixen per 'hi ha'.
