Subject: I can't play sounds

I am a new student at International House Net Languages. I've paid my fees and downloaded the first unit. I am enjoying the unit very much but there is a problem. I'm doing the first listening exercise. When I try to play the first sound file the computer asks if I want to "open this file from its current location" or "save this file to disk". I try both options but I get an error message telling me that it is "unable to open the file". Please can you help me?
